Quick Straw Pine Straw Bale in a Bag

Juniper Blue Rug 3G

This silver-blue evergreen ground cover  will only grow 6″ tall but can spread to 6 feet wide. Ideal choice for a sunny bank too steep to safely cut. Also helps control erosion issues on hillsides. Landscape goal with Blue Rug is to form a “carpet” in a couple of growing seasons, eliminating the need to add mulch or pull weeds as the plants grow together. Space 4′ apart for fast coverage, farther if patient. Offset each row to establish a pattern and slow erosion. Thrives in hot sun and poor soils once established.

Be careful not to add other plants to the bed since the Spicata will dominate. Adapts well to sun and part shade growing about 12″ tall with narrower leaves than the Muscari varieties. Lavender flowers in late summer in a well established bed can be quite impressive. Easy to maintain, cut back with your lawn mower or weed trimmer around March 1st. and all new growth will cover the plants by April.
