For about 4 years now, we've proudly sponsored the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's, and we're excited to continue that support this year!

This cause is close to our hearts, and we're glad to be supporting it alongside our community. As many of you have seen around our nurseries, we have a ribbon stand and shirts available. Each ribbon donation goes straight to the Association and will be displayed on our floral display at the walk on November 7th. Our amazing associates even designed the shirt available at each register, with all proceeds going to the Association as well.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the largest event in the country to raise funds and awareness for the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. It's held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, and our team is proud to participate again this year.

Right now, more than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's, and over 11 million family members and friends provide unpaid care for a loved one. We need your help to end this devastating disease.

Employee Spotlight: Austin! 🌿
New Landscape Account Representative

Austin spent about 6 years working for a landscaping company in Montana before moving to Virginia and finding his way to Cross Creek. He loves working outside and learning more about plants. "One of the main differences is how many more plants we can grow here because of the climate. I've learned so much more because of it."

He spent 2 years on our landscaping team as a crew leader, working on plantscapes and finishing projects. His favorite part was starting a job, finishing it, and talking with the client, that feeling of accomplishing something hard.

Now in his new role, Austin spends his time talking with clients and figuring out the best plan for their space. He's already hearing a lot of great feedback. It's a nice balance of being outside and working in the office.

Outside of work, Austin loves hiking, taking photos of landscapes and nature, and trying new restaurants.

Fresh mums, petunias, calibrachoa, and more just landed, and cooler nights mean they'll hold their color for weeks. Mix and match a few varieties in your beds or containers for an instant fall refresh.

2️⃣ Kick off your fall vegetable garden 🥬
The soil is warm to get things established before the cold hits. Grab our raised bed mix and get kale, lettuce, and other fall veggies in the ground this weekend, you'll be glad you did come harvest time.
