Native Plants: Variety and Care

Why choose Natives? Native plants not only adapt better in our climate and handle environmentla stressors better, but they also help to support both native and non native pollinators. At Cross Creek, you’ll find not only true Natives, but also Nativars in our Native sections.

What is a Nativar? Nativars are plants that have been bred from a true Native plant for a more desireable trait (disease resistance, size, color, etc.) Nativars can occasionally have reduced benefits for pollinators depending on the plant.

We include both Natives and Nativars in our Native sections because they all establish quickly and thrive in our climate.
