This drought-tolerant annual loves to soak up the sun.  Once planted in a sunny area it will thrive with little care even during the heat of summer.  Cuphea  needs a good drink of water about once a week and if in a container needs a bit more.  It’s important to let the roots dry out completely in-between watering’s.  Not bothered by pests, it is a true carefree summer plant that offers a beautiful and continuous supply of dainty purple flowers all summer long, up to the first frost.  Grows to about one foot.
